The program is held in three locations: Buffalo, Syracuse and Albany. Executives are assigned to the class closest to their business address, unless otherwise requested by them. Executives will be expected attend all monthly classes (9) and complete all class assignments with the assistance of their university interns. Assignments are focused on completing parts of their international business plan.
Applicant Criteria
Applicants will be evaluated by the Applications Committee, based on the following criteria; however, an executive need not meet ALL criteria to participate in the program. Multiple attendees from companies are welcome and encouraged.
Company
Decision-maker: Applicant has decision-making authority or influence
for company direction or sales.
Company
Size: Applicant's
company has more than 10 employees and sales of at least $2 million.
Other companies will be admitted on a space-available basis.
Domestic
Business Success: Applicant's
company has stable domestic sales.
International
Market Experience: Applicant's
company has some recent international experience.
Quality
of Management: Applicant's
company has a stable organization and business plan.
International
Experience of the Applicant: Applicant's
international experience fits well with the level of other applicants.
Product
Outlook: Applicant's
product or service is viewed as "exportable" by the United States
Department of Commerce Foreign
Commercial Service.
Company
Commitment: Applicant's company will allow the applicant to attend class
one day monthly and
fulfill all class assignments.
Contribution
to the Region's Economy: The
program will benefit the company and the regional
economy through increased productivity or sales.
Geographic
Location: Applicant
can attend the class located nearest their company. Classes will be
held at Syracuse University, the University at Albany, and the University
at Buffalo.
