Academic programs in entrepreneurship at Syracuse are housed within the Department of Entrepreneurship & Emerging Enterprises. We are one of the few schools in the country that has a formal academic department devoted to entrepreneurship, and this reflects the University’s strong commitment to the discipline.

Undergraduate |
At the undergraduate level, the Department has one of the most comprehensive entrepreneurship curriculums available. A total of thirteen undergraduate courses are offered, addressing all the different facets of entrepreneurship. Students can pursue individual courses (undergraduate - graduate), a major in entrepreneurship, or a minor in entrepreneurship.

MBA |
At the MBA level, the Department offers the Concentration in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Global Leadership (EIGL). Our focus in on entrepreneurial management, or how to bring an entrepreneurial perspective to the challenges and opportunities confronting organizations of all sizes and types. In addition to individual courses in entrepreneurship, innovation and global leadership, students complete Global Entrepreneurial Management, which is a field experience built around the actual implementation of an entrepreneurial concept.

MS |
This master’s program provides a rigorous immersion into the nature of entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial process. Core content is coupled with a strong commitment to experiential learning. The program is a component of the university-wide entrepreneurship emphasis at Syracuse University. It is targeted to students with a passion for entrepreneurship in for-profit, non-profit, and public sector contexts. It consists of 33 credit hours of coursework and can be completed in one year.

PhD |
At the doctoral level, the Department offers the Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship and Strategy. The doctoral program seeks to produce graduates who can meaningfully advance theory and practice within the discipline of entrepreneurship, and contribute to the pedagogical development of the field. The program is intended to be small, selective and rigorous. Although our core emphasis is innovative, growth-oriented ventures, we seek students interested in entrepreneurial behavior in all of its manifestations, including start-up, corporate, social and public sector contexts.
