Computing

SU Computing Policy

We strongly recommend that all users review the Syracuse University policy for usage of the campus network, computer systems, email and data.  SU Policies, Information Technology website

Wireless Computing

AirOrangeX, Syracuse University's high-speed wireless network provides an encrypted secure connection (802.1x) to the SU network. The wireless network is currently available in all University residential facilities, South Campus apartments, and in many University buildings located both on and off campus.  To configure your laptop or other wireless device which supports 802.1x please follow the instructions here.

Remote Access (VPN)

Syracuse University offers VPN access via the SURA (Syracuse University Remote Access) utility.  Using SURA remotely allows users with a NetID access to their network storage (drives G and H), printing to networked printers and other tools otherwise only available when using an office or lab computer on campus.

Faculty and Staff who would like to remotely access SU’s computing network and information systems must read the requirements and policies for access and attend training.  For more information, please click here.
