The technology available in the 35-, 50-, and 75-seat classrooms greatly enrich student learning. Each classroom has:
  • built-in Dell computer
  • two projectors (except the 35-seat classrooms)

The student computer labs are equipped with:
  • updated Dell computers

Flat screen LCDs act as high-tech message boards on every floor, in the Olsten Café, and in the Flaum Grand Hall to keep Whitman students informed about upcoming events and job and internship opportunities.

Distance Learning Distance-Learning Studio
For students who study remotely, Whitman’s in-house distance-learning studio is a great resource for filming class lectures, which are later made available via the Internet.

Tech Support Tech Support
The Whitman School employs a group of highly-skilled information technology professionals that are literally on-call to help with technology needs, from desktop support and web development to new media and software training and audio and visual support.

Notebook Computer Recommendations
The Whitman School strongly recommends that incoming students purchase a Windows-based notebook computer from the SU Bookstore. For many Whitman students, the very small, lightweight, ultra-portable notebook is the best choice. It can be easily carried to classrooms, team rooms, and study areas. Bookstore notebooks are pre-configured with useful software and settings that minimize security threats. Students will also need a copy of Microsoft Office Professional, which is available through the SU Bookstore. Students use their computers to access course materials, collaborate with classmates, communicate with faculty, and research.
