Candice Baptiste '04 BS, ’09 MBA/MPA is a senior consultant with IBM from Cheverly, MD. After graduating from Whitman’s unique Defense Comptrollership Program (DCP), a collaboration between Syracuse University and the Department of Defense, Candice returned to IBM, where she works as a financial management consultant in the Global Business Services-Public Sector, serving the Department of the Army and the Army National Guard with initiatives to improve their financial information to comply with the Chief Financial Officers Act of 1990.
“Upon graduating from Whitman, I returned to IBM to utilize the knowledge and skills I have obtained through Whitman's DCP program while continuing to assist agencies throughout the public sector with their financial improvement goals and initiatives,” says Candice. “I was a graduate of the Whitman undergraduate program in 2004 (accounting and finance major). I am extremely grateful I was provided with the opportunity to return as part of the Defense Comptrollership Program. My undergraduate experience at Whitman was superb and the graduate experience was the same. I was delighted to return to SU (and Whitman) and experience first-hand the transition from the old Whitman School of Management building to the new facility, which opened in 2005.”
