Undergraduate The evolution of the global marketplace thrusts society in a constant state of change. In order to stay ahead of the competition, managers in the field of business must think strategically while adapting to new business practices. These managers must be tech savvy while possessing the knowledge and know-how to create a cohesive team functioning at the quickest and most efficient processes possible. At the Whitman School of Management, you will both develop the skills of an excellent leader, learning how to adapt and change within this new environment, and test your skills in real life situations such as industry internships, involvement in student organizations, and field trips. Experience and specialized coursework prepares Whitman undergraduate students to become leaders in the field through developing the skills necessary to engage people and create successful organizations.

Whitman offers an undergraduate major in management. Courses include Organizational Behavior, Advanced Topics in Strategic Management, Leadership and Organization Change, Management and Ethics, and one additional strategy and human resources or law and public policy course. Whitman also offers an undergraduate minor in strategic management. Courses include Accounting for Non-Management Students, Finance for Non-Management Students, Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Introduction to the Legal System, Introduction to Strategic Management, and one additional strategy and human resources or law and public policy course. PhD Program in Management The Whitman PhD in Management program offers a rigorous, research-oriented program in which students focus on one of the following major areas of study: organizational behavior (OB)/human resources (HR), organization theory (OT), or strategic management. Students enter the program from a variety of educational and professional backgrounds and are immediately immersed in coursework, research, and preparation for teaching in their area of study. Upon graduation, doctoral students in the Whitman management program enjoy placement in highly regarded colleges and universities in the country.
